Online Registration is now open   . Early bird discounts are in place for delegates registered by Monday 18 December 2017.

Abstract categories

Abstracts are welcome in three categories: scientific, case histories and general interest papers.

  1. Scientific abstracts are intended to communicate the findings of qualitative or quantitative research studies or good quality audits. The studies should be undertaken using formal research methods and the abstracts need to be structured. Scientific abstract submissions judged by the scientific committee as meeting a quality threshold will be included in the programme as either oral presentations or as posters.

  2. The case history category is intended to encourage active and thoughtful clinicians to share unusual or interesting cases with colleagues, with the intention of providing novel information and stimulating debate. The case history should follow a structure (background, presentation, investigations, treatment, conclusions) but the emphasis is on sharing interesting clinical information rather than imparting new knowledge though research.

  3. General interest submissions covers those which do not constitute formal research but would be of interest to the practice, service organization or personal development of podiatric surgeons. These abstracts can be more flexible in structure and content and again the emphasis is on likely interest to the delegates rather than rigorous methods.

Abstracts should state, in 500 words or fewer, briefly and clearly:

  • Aims/ Objectives
  • Content of Presentation
  • Relevance/Impact
  • Outcomes
  • Discussion
